So original, simple and beautiful!  Great news for fans of Scandinavian modern classics, Finnish design and Tapio Wirkkala. This 1959 design won Wirkkala the Grand Prix XII at the 1960 Milan Triennial for the genius of designing a bulb and a fixture together to complete each other.  Now recently relaunched in Finland with an update to an LED bulb but otherwise original to the 1959 design, including the mold blown colored glass shades handmade at Muurla, Finland.  The glass globe colors of sand, smoke blue, and greenish grey are intentionally soft and understated to allow the pretty bulb and light quality to show through.  The wider, angular shape measures 7.7" diameter X 7.3" high.  The narrower, hourglass shape measures 5.9" diameter X 7.4" high. The Wikkala designed opal glass bulb is included, measures 8" high X 3.35" diameter, and is a dimmable 8 watt (3000K) LED bulb with a standard medium base and rated for 15,000 hours.  Also included is a 120" black cord with 5.3" black metal neck, and black metal ceiling cup.  So amazing in groupings!
