This handmade vintage Afghan tribal accent rug/small runner is made of fine quality soft lambs wool and expert craftsmanship.  This rug has areas of distress but can still withstand high traffic and will last generations.  The geometric and tribal allover design is a very contemporary pattern, hand-knotted by village weavers using only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The repeating geometric diamond motifs within perfect squares are woven in intricate detail in black, burgundy and white on a candy apple red background.  The intricate border with rows of wave-like and flower repeating motifs provide the perfect frame.  This rug has several areas of low pile and a slightly distressed binding - see last 2 photos for close-ups.  The rug is perfectly intact and will last generations.
