Faun by Moonshine (Faun bij Maneschijn) art print poster by Belgian painter and graphic artist Léon Spilliaert (born 1881). Spilliaert was a fan of Edgar Allan Poe and this Poe-like atmosphere can often be seen in his work. Spilliaert used watercolour and especially charcoal to great effect.

This is a whimsical almost folklore fairytale inspired art piece, originally created by Spilliaert in washed East-Indian ink, black chalk, brush and pencil on paper.

In Greek mythology, the faun is a half human, half goat figure - a symbol of peace and fertility often blurring the lines of definition between the satyr and Pan, the Greek god of the wild. Guillermo del Toro's film, Pan's Labyrinth featured a creature based on such mythology. The subject makes interesting reading!
