This listing is for a rare Japanese Awaji stoneware garlic head vase, circa 1900. Crafted of red clay, it was built and painted by hand and showcases a mesmerizing matte textural finish of unparalleled charm. Having the look of a more modern modern sculpture, every angle and circumventing groove of this exquisite vase brings a whole different piece of art to eye. Certainly invites contemplation of its contrasting elements. This unsigned piece measures approximately 13.5” high x 5.5” diameter and is gently used with a nip to the rim and a hairline (shown in the photos), and wear consistent with age and use.

We appreciate your careful review of the photos as they tell so much more than we can articulate; and ask that you zoom in for a closer look at any and all condition issues.

We welcome questions and encourage you to ask before reaching a buying decision. Fixed rate shipping applies to US buyers only.
