Staffordshire Volunteer Cavalry
'Document' dated 'Stafford, 20th Sept. 1794' appears to be the minutes for a meeting that took place 'At the Swan Inn in Stafford, on Monday the 15th Day of September 1794.' The regiment itself was formed at the Swan Inn, Stafford on 4th July 1794.
Measuring 20 x 31cm and printed on laid paper with a watermark of the Hanoverian Royal Arms with the fourth quarter showing just one lion passant for Brunswick, a lion rampant for Lüneburg and horse for Westphalia.

The first matter discussed (and Resolved) was 'The Countess of Sutherland having requested Permission to present the Staffordshire Volunteer Cavalry with Standards.'
Other matters discussed:
'The Lord Lieutenant be requested to apply for commissions for several persons approved by him, as Officers in this Corps, as soon as his Lordship shall think proper.'
'That Helmets according to the Pattern produced be provided for the persons enrolling themselves in the Corps, instead of the Hats as by a former order.'
'That the Patterns of Clothes, Arms, and Accoutrements now produced, be approved.'
'That a Meeting of the Committee be held at the Swan in Stafford, on Wednesday the 1st Day of October next at 12 o'Clock.'
Condition:
4 horizontal and 1 Vertical fold.
Few creases and indentations here & there.
Small foxing type mark to top.
