Epiphyllum : Cutting not rooted, 8"-10" long. Large Orange Red flower with many petals . Overlapping cup and saucer form. Flat basket type.
Epiphyllums do best in broken shade under trees during the hot months of summer, in winter they need protection from frost.
Flowers range from Extra Large sized to very large.
After flowering, plants should rest for 6 weeks when they will need only enough moisture to prevent the soil from becoming completely dry.
At all other times, the compost should not be allowed to become too dry. Water less frequently, in late fall and winter.
Overhead spraying is also beneficial, when they need only enough moisture to prevent the soil from becoming completely dry. Stems are long, flat smooth, and usually notched along the edges, and are spineless.
