Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

 You are looking at a high quality and highly desirable Electro Voice RE-10 cardioid dynamic microphone made in 1988 as shown on the serial number. Made in Buchanan, Michigan. It comes with the E.V clip and black vinyl mic pouch shown.

 Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old E.V catalog. The catalog is not included however. You can always make a copy of this on your printer of course.

 Pic # 3 shows a young Stevie Nicks from the 1970's using one of these very model mics while recording live.

 The RE-10 is one of the finer dynamic cardioid mics made during the 1970's - 1990's and still very sought after even today for it's excellent sound characteristics. Lite weight and built like a tank. These mics rarely ever fail and have good, strong output.

 Apparently the RE-10 and RE-15 were virtually identical except that the RE-15 had just a slightly higher frequency range but even to the trained ear you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. If you love the RE-15 then the RE-10 will do you justice.

 This microphone has been thoroughly cleaned and tested. The signal strength is 100% and sounds excellent...set at 150 OHMS which is more Medium Impedance but has an adjustable bass switch as seen in pic # 8 so that you can get more bass from this mic. It has a warm, rich tone on the lower Z setting and is excellent for broadcasting and singing. It has a higher impedance sound on it's high setting. A superb microphone all around. Easy to hold and superb uni-directional characteristics.

  The chrome mesh screen is very nice too with zero tarnish, odors or deformation. Mic has a new inner foam pop filter to help with sound characteristics. Cuts down on unwanted "pops" from breathing to close or windy conditions. The original pop filters usually fall apart as they often do with age.

 The pastel green paint on the handle has typical heavier wear. There are small scuff marks and some paint loss but it's free of any dents or fractures. The E.V label is completely legible and looks great. The XLR pins on this mic have been cleaned.

 The mic takes a standard XLR cable which is not included but easy enough to find.

 The RE-10 also comes with the E.V 310 model mic clip that is in very good condition and works great for this microphone giving the user a wide degree of tilt up and down as needed. The clip grips the mic firmly and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have as well. It does show lite cosmetic wear.

 The older black vinyl mic pouch is included and will do a great job of protecting the mic when not in use. As you can see there is virtually no cosmetic wear and the zipper works excellent. A nice accessory to have that will be a great place to store the mic as well.

 Overall this piece is physically a true 6 on a scale of 1 - 10. This RE-10 will certainly get the job done. These just keep going up in value as well. Properly taken care of this mic should outlive yourself. Testament to the high quality build of these classic American made mics.
