This auction is for a spelter figure of Huck Finn that was found broken from the base. The figure has been inserted into 2 holes that were drilled into a wooden block that has a Klise  Mfg. Co. metal die attached to it with 4 screws. This metal die was used by the Klise Mfg. Co. in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who was in business over 110 years. The broken base, which is clearly marked "KAUBA",  will be included in this auction as well.  Carl Kauba was born in 1865 and died in 1922 in Vienna, Austria.  Kauba studied at The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and his foundry made numerous metal figures in spelter and bronze. He was mostly known for his figures depicting various individuals from the American West. Please see the the seller's other auctions which feature the wood cutting dies from the historic Klise Manufacturing Co.  The wooden block measures 8 inches in width and 2 inches in height.  The metal plate measures 4 3/4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep. The figure measures 5 inches from the top of the head to the ankles. Study the pictures as there are no returns.  This seller does not ship internationally.
