Pure Sri Lankan Made Jaggery


  • Kithul Jaggery is made with sap collected from the flower of the Kithul tree. It is a solid sweet which can found in the shape of half a globe diagonally cut in the middle. Coconut shells are used as moulds into which the jaggery palm flower sap boiled beyond the point of treacle is poured to cool off and solidify.


Uses

  • Used in the making of some types of ice cream.
  • As an ingredient in making cake.
  • To make watalappam (A delicious food which is famous in Sri Lanka).
  • Can be served with tea.
