This is camphor burl veneer. The wood impresses with its silky sheen and strong coloring, which ranges from deep dark red to reddish brown to yellowish green. The veneer pattern leaves an imaginative impression and is characterized by cloud-like structures which are enlivened by small grain cores and fine lines. In Asia, camphor wood is used to extract oil and other essential substances, which are also used to make perfumes. There are reddish and yellowish-brown types of camphor, some lose their intense scent over time, while others retain it for years. Among other things, it also depends on the origin + growth area. Please note that small open areas and fine cracks can occur with burl and root wood from time to time (see markings/photos)! The board/wood is only in raw cut, only air dry (production/cutting around summer 2011), no side planed, reverse side possibly dirty/uneven/rough sawn/sloping! (sometimes we moisten the wood slightly to bring out the structure better) Dimensions are given with minimum and maximum!
