These tiles are about
4-1/4 inches by 4-1/4 inches and about 5/16 inch thick.
Using my digital caliper this tiles measures .31" inch thick and 4.28" wide on the self-spacing lugs.
Tile measures 4.25" on the square edge.
Using a vintage American Olean Tile Color Chart, the color is #392 Crystalline Buckwheat
Made by the American Tile Co.
This company merge with other tiles makers to become The American Olean Co. in the early 1950's
Imprinted on
back of tiles is: American, S-4449, Made in USA.
Interestingly this tile is marked as scored, a mistake by the Company: they used up all the blank tiles that had not been glazed yet for this tile.
