*4 - hinged/half doors (2 spare) (only for MOVEABLE VERSION)

Photos show all the parts supplied, along with some painted versions

ROOF: Ensure the roof is a good fit, the chimney has a locating pin, and this matches with the stove/pipe inside. Check all the support marks are removed from the roof edge, and that it is not bowed up in the middle - I recommend fixing gently once all painted, as most roof tend to bow after a while.

DOORS: If you go for the MOVABLE doors option, then the half doors will normally be already fitted and a spare set supplied. The pins are a little delicate, but allow the door to be posed in an open position. The sliding doors should be fitted in the middle, then slid aside. Insert the top of the door first, then gently bend the door to locate in the bottom slot. Ensure the doors are flat, or bowed gently outwards. See the video above.

WINDOWS: due to being 3D printed, they are not fully transparent. Apply a thin layer of gloss varnish to both side to improve transparency. They can be a bit fiddly to fit, and may require some fine sanding or adjustment to fit well. Also included a small piece of acetate sheet as an alternative that can be cut to size to fit in the internal recess. In all cases, I recommend fixing with white/PVA glue

FIGURES: The kit includes 2 standing crew.

WHEELS: If removing/replacing wheel-sets, do this very carefully, using pliers to hold the axles, and only apply gentle pressure to the axle boxes. The 3D resin is not as flexible or forgiving as injection moulded plastic.

BRAKES: Brake mechanism is all fixed as part of the chassis.

COUPLINGS: My couplings may be supplied either attached to a small web/base plate, or to the base of the wagon, for ease of handling/protection. They should easily snap off with sideways pressure The chassis have an NEM style slot, which also takes PECO or Bachmann couplings.

Due to tolerances/variations in the printing process, the couplings may be slightly loose, or rather tight. Loose will just require some glue or packing, if tight, ensure all the sprues/bumps are fully removed (a fingernail usually does the trick), you can also lubricate with an HB pencil (as the resin is naturally rough), but some might require gentle filing/sanding to ensure a good fit. Use super glue or PVA - solvent glues do not work on 3D resins.

The NEM style pockets and couplings are a little delicate, so take care, they will not stand up to repeated insertion and removal. Each wagon comes with 2 OO9 hooks and 2 hooks with fixed loops, so there are double the number required, in case of breakage.

PAINTING: For the MOVABLE version, I recommend rubbing HB pencil into the slots and door ends before, and after panting, to aim lubrication, and avoid getting excess paint into the slots. The hinges should only get a light paint, else they might bind. I painted the examples with the doors attached, and only removed them to finish details off. I used Citadel paints (enamels work fine too, or car sprays). Colour wise, the green was a blend of Layer Moot Green and Base Waaagh! Flesh. Inside was Scorched Brown, followed by Calthan Brown. Then some brown and black washes.

WEIGHTING: The metal wheel-sets give the wagons a reasonable amount of weight. You can of course add weight as the load, but better to add a small lead strip under the chassis, between the axles, to give a low centre of gravity.

CAREFUL: All 3D models can be a little delicate, so don't drop them on the floor ! Also, I recommend any work be done with a file/sandpaper or min-drill rather than trying to cut, as this is gentler. I cannot be held responsible for breakage during handling, but if they are damaged in the post, then please provide photographic evidence of packaging etc. Any breakage can normally be fixed with a spot of super-glue or PVA.

The parts are printed in high-resolution resin, I generally print in white, although this doesn?t photograph well, it paints very well (colour you receive may vary). All prints have been cleaned and cured thoroughly, but as with all 3D prints, there may be small blemishes to tidy up.

STOCK: I hold a small stock, so will normally dispatch next working day (or even same day if early enough), but at times there may be a delay if I have to make parts to order. I will advise you when the order is received of any delay, otherwise I aim to dispatch with 2 working days.

Lastly, I am always interested in feedback (check the eBay feedback for how pleased people are with the models), both on this model, and suggestions for what to work on next.
