Operation:

Whenever hot water sensor is measured to be hotter than the cool water sensor by the setting of the differential preset, the differential pump controller switches on which then supplies power to a water pump and led comes on. The output remains on, until the measured temperature difference between the two sensors has fallen to below the setting of the differential preset

For example:

The hot sensor can be located on the output of a solar panel, the cool sensor can be located in the water or on a water pipe of a swimming pool/hot tub etc.

In this way when water in the solar panel is hotter than the pool/hot tub water by the setting of the preset - the water pump will switch on.

The differential temperature is set by turning the differential preset with a crosshead screwdriver as shown is the photos.

Please note: solar panels can and often do reach temperatures of about +70°C (158°F) when the sun is shining which can give an approximate output water temperature of between +30°C (86°F) and +60°C (140°F)...and perhaps more!

The differential pump controller also has a manual override switch which can turn the pump on at any time and at whatever temperature.
