Vintage 1930's Japan

Dollhouse Tea and Table Dishes

This is a lovely dollhouse kitchen grouping with 5 sets of teacup/saucers, 3 plates, and a sherbet cup, stored in a tin apple case.  The dishes are opalescent milk glass and probably made in 1920-1930s Japan.  The plates are marked Japan on the bottoms.

The sherbet is 1 1/8 inches wide and 3/4 inch tall. The larger plates are 1 7/8 inches wide.  The teacups are 1 1/8 inches wide plus the tiny handles.  The tea plates are 1 3/8 inches wide. The apple is 4 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches tall.

There are some small chips at the bottom rims of 3 teacups, a small chip on a large plate and a small chip on the base of a small plate.  These are not noticeable on display only by running fingertips over the edges.

The apple is tin metal.  The cover closes tightly.  There is paint wear as shown.  Included are 3 small paper doilies.
