This instructor's cane (90 cms with heavy metal cap/ferrule) was inscribed as being presented to :-

T/22249095 (Rank not clear - obscured) MJ Davies by Junior NCOs Training Regiment School on 2nd March 1956

(The use of 'T/service number' indicates that Davies was from the 'Transport' side of the then corps: those from the remainder were badged 'S/number' to indicate the 'Supplies' staff, the separation of that period. Later, 'T' staff would have helped form the Royal Corps of Transport, while 'S' staff were rebadged to the Army Ordnance Corps, and thus later the Royal Logistics Corps bringing both groups together again.

The remainder of the cap depicts the badge of the 'Royal Army Service Corps' at that time.

It is in 'used' condition, showing signs of use and 'wear and tear', but also of frequent cleaning leaving the finish with some tarnish today, but still a piece of RASC history, or indeed more for a relative of Davies himself, perhaps?

The cane may be posted with the buyer and seller sharing costs: the buyer's costs are indicated. Alternatively, the stick may be collected by prior arrangement from BB4 (Rossendale) if required. The Global Shipping Programme could transfer this item to overseas buyers: details on request or check on ebay.
