Imperial German, Great War, Extremely Rare Minty Air Service Pilot Officer’s Shoulder Boards. The Pilot was an Oberleutnant and are made of silver bouillon Russian Braid with an Air Service Insignia and a single rank pip. These are the first Air Service Pilot’s Shoulder Boards if found in any condition in over a decade. These are sewn in boards in minty condition.

These Shoulder Boards were purchased at a Militaria Auction House and the backing color may indicate the Pilot was a Uhlan ( Cavalry ) or infantry officer before transfer to the Air Service. The Red Baron transferred from the cavalry as an example. Life in the sky was a much more exciting life than in a trench.

Multiple purchases can be combined for postal savings.

Freight quoted is for domestic United States, International postage is not a problem it just needs to be quoted separately to all destinations allowed by law
