Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at one of Electro Voices most elegant microphones ever manufactured and sold with a desk stand as a nice display piece. These 623 dynamic models had a clean, modern, simplistic layout and is a 1st generation "general purpose" mic that was an affordable option to the more expensive dynamic cardioid mics of the day. Again, it comes with the desk stand shown.

Pic # 2 is from the E.V 623 showing the mics basic characteristics.

It should noted right away that this mic has been tested and has a dead element therefor this should be used for display, repair or prop purposes only.

The 623 was an omni-directional microphone picking up more sound making it ideal for a singer who would play the guitar or other handheld instrument. Even a piano would work well with this mic. If there is a lot of background noise then this wouldn't be ideal. It was an all metal design with polished chrome finish.

The polished chrome housing has held up very well with typical lite wear. There are some tiny scratches and a couple small nicks but it's free of any corrosion, dents or engravings and a very nice example overall. Please le the detailed pics be your guide. The E.V badge shows no wear and completely legible. A very good looking mic overall and I'd rate it an 8 + cosmetically speaking on a scale of 1 - 10.

The joint mechanism works perfectly with plenty of adjustable tension and the threads for both the cable and stand are perfect. This mic takes a standard screw on 4 pin cable. Same cable used by the E.V 664 and Shure 545 / 545 S.

This would make a very fine addition to any vintage microphone collection and the if you plan on using this for broadcasting you'll be surprised at the big sound and quality of the signal if repaired.

MICROPHONE STAND IS PART OF THIS SALE...

The stand is actually a newer Chinese model. It's a plastic and metal design with flat black paint that has a cool older deco vibe that compliments the mic nicely. The stand is basically brand new with almost zero physical wear. The stand itself is appx 5 1/2 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide. There's enough weight in the stand to keep the mic from falling over no matter how low the mic is tilted.

Total height with mic and stand when mic is raised fully upright is 12 inches.

As with all my vintage microphones...
