Eric Demetric Dickerson was Born 09/02/1960. He was recognized as ALL-American when he played for the Mustangs of Southern Methodist University.

Eric Dickerson played for the NFL for 11 seasons. He played with the Rams from 1983-1987. Eric Dickerson was selected second overall in the first round Draft, & then started playing for the Los Angeles Rams in 1983. There he led with 1,808 rushing yards; & scored 18 rushing touchdowns, & another 2 receiving touchdowns. He earned Player & Rookie of the Year Honors. In his 2nd season he joined the 2,000 - Yard Club. 12 Times in 1984 he gained more than 100 yards rushing, breaking the record held by O. J. Simpson 2,003 yards with his 2,105 yards. 5.6 yards per carry led the Los Angeles Rams to a Playoff Berth in 1984. In 1985; he missed the first 2 games while in a contract dispute, & missed the Pro Bowl for the 1st time. 


He played for the Indianapolis Colts from 1987 to 1991. In 1987, he played just 3 games for the Los Angeles Rams during the strike-shortened season. He was traded to the Indianapolis Colts. He played for just 9 games & he still managed to gain 1,011 yards to finish with 1,288 yards. He helped his team get their first winning season & playoff berth in 10 years. In 1988, he ran for 1,659 yards rushing. In 1989, he passed the 10,000 yard mark - making him the fastest to do so in just 91 games beating greats Jim Brown(98 Games), Barry Sanders(103 Games), and even Emmitt Smith(106 Games). By 1989, he had 7 straight seasons of more than 1,000 yards rushing.

In 1992,  he was traded to the Los Angeles Raiders, where he recorded his 63rd & 64th career 100-yard games.

July 1993, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons as a back-up role.

 He retired in 1993.  FYI- On August 29, 2017- he signed a 1 - day contract to officially retire as a member of the Los Angeles Rams.

 During his career he rushed for over 13,000 yards. 

 In 1984, he set the single-season rushing record with 2,105 yards.

  Eric Dickerson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999. 

 In 2019, he was named to the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.

In 2020, he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame

A side note... He wore Prescription goggles throughout his Career due to Myopia.
