A superb and rare image of the Laverda 1000 3CL, ridden by the British riders Cash and Melody, in action during the 1972 edition of the prestigious French Bol d’Or endurance race.
The Laverda was entered by the British Laverda importer Roger Slater. It was jointly prepared by the Laverda factory and Slater. It was a steady top ten lapper which was quite an achievement in the highly competitive starting field. Unfortunately, gearbox trouble cut the race short. Roger Slater has done a lot for the Laverda brand, he also was responsible for the birth of the magnificent Laverda Jota 1000.
