In Japanese, Sakura means cherry blossom. And to much of the world, cherry blossoms mean celebration. Designer Onofre Casas was inspired and lends his expertise in light, shadow and shape and love of nature.

The story of the Sakura handbag begins with custom designer artwork. Brighton has developed an innovative process for transferring the original artwork of its designers onto leather. Every detail comes to life through this digital process.

Next, each individual leather petal is crafted one by one. They are die-cut, heat-shaped into dimensional petal forms and then assembled into voluptuous, three-dimensional flower shapes and appliquéd onto the bags. The top petals get hand-beaded. The process is labor intensive, but so worth it.
