Georgian 1765 English Sterling London by William Sudell Silver Cream / Milk Jug

This is an antique Georgian cream or milk jug made in London, England mid 18th century. It stands on a round base and it is adorned with hand chiselled decoration forming garlands of flowers and leaves, friezes and tassels. To the front it has a reserve in the form of a shield with a ribbon is bow which has never been monogrammed. With graceful design is fully hallmarked ‘Lion Passant’ for Sterling Silver standard, ‘Leopard Head’ for London mark, ‘Gothic K’ for 1765 and ‘WS’ (Silversmith’s initials William Sudell). The silverwork is in very good antique condition, it has a detail to the spout…a press mark? (please check picture, marked with arrow). It measures 4 7/8” in height to the handle, 3 15/16” to the highest point of the spout, 3 1/2” across with the handle, 2 3/8” in diameter to the base and it weighs 120.2 grams.
