The ultimate model with a new appeal.
The 1/32 Zero Fighter Type 52 was highly acclaimed for its thorough reproduction of every detail, from proportions to details, and the inclusion of movable wing sections and landing gear without sacrificing the sense of scale. Now, Tamiya's most cherished model has been re-released with a new appeal. In addition to the existing kit, a 20mm machine gun barrel and pitot tube with a sharp metal finish are included. The gun barrel is pre-colored and the pitot tube is pre-plated to enhance the details. Markings include one additional type of aircraft mounted on the aircraft carrier "Hayabusa" that participated in the Battle of the Mariana Sea. The package is the same size as the 1/32 Zero Fighter Type 21 and can hold the completed model. The Zero-sen Type 52, which was refined in various parts to face the powerful new fighters of the U.S. Army. The ultimate model brings back to life the crystallization of Japanese aircraft technology.

About the Zero-sen Type 52
The Zero fighter continued to fly as the mainstay of the Imperial Japanese Navy throughout the Pacific War. In the latter half of the war, the Type 52 followed the Type 22 in order to compete with the high-speed, heavily armed American fighter planes. It was powered by the same 1130-horsepower Sakae Type 21 engine as the Type 22, but with improvements to various parts, including a single thrust-operated exhaust pipe instead of the conventional group exhaust pipe, a shorter wingspan of 11 m, and semicircular shaped ends, the maximum speed was increased to 565 km/h. The Zero was also equipped with a fixed armament, a 7.5-meter-long nose section, a 7.5-meter-long nose section, and a 7.5-meter-long nose section. It was armed with two 7.7mm machine guns in the nose and two 20mm long-barreled machine guns in the wings. The Type 52 was deployed in the fall of 1943 and fought in most of the battles of the latter half of the war, including the Battle of the Solomon Islands, the Battle of the Mariana Sea, and the air defense of the Japanese mainland, and it continued to fight hard against the overwhelmingly superior American forces in both quality and quantity until the war's end.

The kit features a full range of movable parts that can only be achieved in big scale.
One of the most attractive features of this kit is the seven movable parts. Although the kit tends to be overscaled, we have reproduced it with emphasis on precision and without compromising the outlines and molds. Even after completion, you will be able to enjoy the realistic movements and understand the mechanism of the actual aircraft even more.
