This rice-cooking earthenware pot is filled with the specialties of Mr. Kushimoto, a pottery craftsman of Yokkaichi Banko-Yaki.
There are three recommended points.

(1) The thickly molded finish transfers heat gently rather than rapidly, resulting in slow and delicious cooking.
(2) Far-infrared rays heat the rice to the core, resulting in fluffy rice.
(3) Because the rice is made of rough clay, it does not stick to the rice as much as wooden Ohitsu.

The best point of all is (1).
In short, you can cook fluffy, shiny, and delicious rice without the need for heat.

You can cook shiny rice easily.

(1) Wash rice, add water, and soak the rice for about 20 minutes.
The recommended amounts of water are 200cc for 1 cup, 400cc for 2 cups, 550cc for 2.5 cups, 600cc for 3 cups, and 800cc for 4 cups.
*The approximate water volume lines are located on the inside of the pot.
2) Set the inner and outer lids, place on a gas stove, and cook over a high medium heat (between high and medium heat).
3) Cook the rice with the heat level as it is.
In the case of 2-cup pots, steam will start to rise about 7 minutes after the first flame is turned on, and will subside about 2 minutes after that.
For a 4-cup pot, steam will start to rise about 10 minutes after the first flame is turned on, and will subside about 2 minutes after that, so turn off the flame.
If you want to make okoge, cook the rice for 1 to 2 minutes longer and turn off the heat when you smell the aroma.
4) After turning off the heat, let the rice steam for about 20 minutes without opening the lid.
5) Open the lid and stir the rice with a scooper to release excess steam.
*This may vary slightly depending on the type of rice and heat power.
