I'M HERE TO SELL.

This is a Rare Artifact which I believe is related to the Falkland Islands War / Conflict.

I suppose that it's in an expected relic condition for a 40ish year old artifact. It still retains its  original feel & has a nice sculptural type form.

It's clearly been screwed on to a thick mahogany base that looks older than the piece itself. It consists of a thick steel plate, sitting on top of it is a think aluminium plate. There are numerous steel rods penetrating the aluminium plate that has clearly been through the wars if you excuse my pun. As the aluminium metal is all deformed. There's also an inner Bakelite type material at the base of the steel rods. Some of the outer rods wobble a little.

If anyone can please tell me anything about it, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have been told that it;

"Look like military L1A1 det's, used by military engineers to demolish bridges roads etc. There should be a solid end & a hollow end where the det cord fits into. The plinth & plaque look very typically British military in style".

And;

"It has a Royal Engineers feel to it & the metal plate looks similar to something off a tracked vehicle. As the army loved to immortalise errors,  I do wonder if it supposed to symbolise a soldier having run over a box of det's in his tracked vehicle which is just speculation. It's very unusual".

It's perfect for display in any collection. It also has Sculptural type qualities & look.

There's a brass plate on the front with crude writing on it saying;

"1979 - 85 De Tonators"

It's approx just over 11 3/4" by 10" by just under 5 1/2 tall.

It's very heavy at 6.6 kgs.

In expected used condition for an item of this age & nature. Completely safe & inert but a great piece of history.

Please study the images as they also form part of the description & please do your own research.

All UK postage includes the extra cost of being signed for, for added peace of mind.

Positive feedback is always appreciated.
