Installation Tips
  1. 1939-1948 engines use 24 studs per head (48 per engine) that are 3.25" long.
  2. 1949-1953 engines use 10 short studs (3") and 14 long studs (3.25") per head (48 total studs per engine).
  3. Use sealer on block threads – Moroso part number 545-35500
  4. Use anti-seize on nuts and upper studs – Speedway part number

1939-48 Kit includes (48) 3.25" studs, (48) grade 8 UNF nuts, and (48) hardened flat washers. Stud length for the long portion is 1-7/8", short portion is 11/16".

1949-53 Kit includes (28) 3.25" and (20) 3.00" studs, (48) grade 8 nuts, and (48) washers. 3" studs are long end 1.88"/short .69". The 3.25" studs are long end of 1.94"/short .69". Shoulder length is .66”
