Heavy VINTAGE Antique ART DECO Brass BELT BUCKLE w/ HUGE High-Dome RUBY RED Glass Cabochons.

This is a gorgeous vintage 1930's Art Deco style belt buckle.  This buckle belonged to my Great Aunt, who lived and worked as a well-regarded milliner in New York in the 1920's and 30's.  She was a very stylish woman who was always up on the latest fashion trends of the time and wore lots of designer and high-end clothing and jewelry.  This piece is a beautiful example of the kinds of items she wore in the 1930's.

The buckle is very finely made, with 10 large, heavy glass cabochons in ruby red, each individually prong-set and framed by rectangles of a  shiny gold-tone metal that I'm quite sure is brass.

The buckle measures about 3" x 2-5/8", and weighs about 60 grams.  It is in great vintage condition, and the cabochons are clear and bright with no scratches or chips.  Some of the photos came out showing the cabs as more pink than they actually are.  They are a true, deep ruby red.  The color is shiny and vibrant, and beautifully translucent in the light.  Truly a gorgeous piece!
