This couple appears in the 1940 census of Little River, Caldwell County, NC which lists W. Morgan McDonald (age 28), Melba E. (age 27), Trudi Hoye (age 4) and Patricia Elia (age 1).   All were born in NC.  The father is a “Laborer” at a “furniture factory.”
