This is a rare ashtray from the luxurious Westgate Hotel opened its doors in downtown San Diego 50 years ago  and at it’s dedication developer C. Arnholt Smith described the hotel as “our contribution to San Diego’s steps toward a metropolitan city.  Touted to be one of "the most elegant hotels built in the 20th century.
