Jean Bourdichon (1459 – 1521) was a French miniature painter and manuscript illuminator at the court of France between the end of the 15th century and the start of the 16th century

These cards depict 15th century artwork of the natural world, insects, flowers, snails, etc.

The two miniature decks of cards together, are only slightly larger than a regular deck of playing cards.

These are for the game of concentration, or translated from the French “pairs”.

This is a vintage deck of cards sold through the national library of France, that was produced in 1994.

The cards themselves show no signs of usage, and each of the miniature decks, still comes with its original banding.
