NdFeB magnets have a curie temperature of 80 degrees Celsius. Neodymium magnets need to be plated to protect them from corrosion.

They are brittle by nature and break easily if allowed to slam into each other or any other item for that matter.

Customer Notice: Neodymium magnets are made from metallic powders that are pressed into shapes and treated in a furnace. These shapes are then electroplated with nickel to prevent corrosion. The shiny nickel coating gives the impression that the magnets are made of solid metal but they are physically more like pottery. Depending on their size and shape if you allow neodymium magnets to crash together the force may shatter them.
As these have wonderful strong magnetic properties, these magnets can be dangerous. Small magnets, are especially dangerous around small children. If swallowed, they can block respiratory and digestive tract. Larger magnets, about the size of your palm, will affect anything magnetic or electronic in their vicinity/room, including wiping off information on magnetic strip cards (as your credit card).
