This scroll is by the artist Asai Hakuzan (1842-1907). The dating on the scroll is therefore late 19th to early 20th century. It is a landscape painting depicting a couple seated beneath a tree in the mountains. The dimensions on the scroll are approximately 72" X 30". The materials are rice paper mounted on a silk background. There is one collector's seal in the lower right hand corner of the painting. A wooden box constructed for the scroll is also signed by Hakuzan.
