- This appears to be a mirror image of George
Washington after the original famous painting by Gilbert Stuart in the Boston Athenaeum.
7.5” wide, 9.75” tall.
Frame – 12.5” wide, 14” tall.
Condition – excellent untouched original surface, appropriate custom framing/probably original. 2125
- Draper, William Franklin, New York City, NY (1912-2003). Known as the “Dean of American
Portraiture”. Draper was particularly known for his portraits of historical
figures and commissioned officers as well as landscapes. His paintings of John F Kennedy (only painter of JFK from life, 1962)
and Richard Nixon hang in the National Portrait Gallery. Draper’s works are
displayed at the national Gallery of Art and other prominent galleries in the USA. In 1999, Draper received a lifetime achievement
award from the Portrait Society of America.
