For decades Popular Mechanics was one of the top magazines for the do-it-yourself repair and improvement crowd.  It was popular for auto repair, gardening, home repairs and improvements, even electrical and building your own swimming pool or making furniture.  If you could imagine it, Popular Mechanics probably published it in their magazine.   This book is a collection of those how-to articles chock full of illustrations and pictures that showed you just how to build it.  An amazing collection that's still an effective guide to building just about anything.  I highly recommend this book for collectors, carpenters, furniture builders and amateur garage construction enthusiasts that just can't find simple and easy to follow instructions.  This book is quite hard to find and for its condition has been priced accordingly.  While the pages are yellowing with age, I took these pics under a small lamp in my office so the pages look yellower than they are.  The 3rd image, about building bunk beds is the best example of how they really look.
