When a patient suffers from a stroke, one of the biggest issues can be residual pain in the hand. This stroke hand splint is soft and comfortable, while also reducing and preventing the painful flexion contractions that can plague people throughout the recovery process. These same issues with curling of fingers and flexing of fingers can be a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome and later stages of Parkinson’s. Luckily, this functional hand splint eases those symptoms, and can be used for long term relief. The impeccable design and flawless engineering means it is highly breathable and the breathable fabric eliminates odors and sweat. This means the splint can be worn on a daily basis, and even worn overnight. This splint is designed for consistent use, and will be a necessity once the patient first tries it on. While many practitioners and physical therapists recommend designs that cost hundreds of dollars, we are thrilled to be able to provide a high quality, functional resting splint at a fraction of the cost.

Indications 

Pre-operative, post-operative, post-traumatic, e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome

(CTS), for paralysis, for inflammatory and rheumatic diseases, post-stroke

Contraindications 

Peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD), lymph drainage disorders,

also unclear soft tissue swellings distal to the aid positioned, sensory and

circulatory disorders with the region of the body treated, skin diseases in the

part of the body treated

Fitting instructions 

Place the brace on the inner side of the hand/lower arm. The aluminum

splint is moldable, enabling achievement of the desired thumb and hand

position. Place the finger on the finger rest and place the thumb in the thumb

guide. Firstly, close the Velcro fastener on the metacarpus and on the fingers.

Finally, close the Velcro fastener on the thumb and wrist/lower arm.

Removal 

Open all the Velcro fasteners and remove the brace. Close the Velcro

fasteners in order to avoid early wear to the Velcro surface.
