Precaution of installing Power Steering Pump

  Please pay attention to the following instructions during the Power Steering Pump installation,to avoid any loss. 

 1.  To prevent any trash and metal chips inside hydraulic pipe flowed into the pump,thus oil leak,abnormal noise and turning hard happened,steering system hydraulic pipe wasted oil should be released and cleaned.

2.  Before assembling the high pressure connector,enough fresh hydraulic oil should be poured into the pump from high pressure oil mouth to avoid non oil absorption in low speed,then install the high pressure pipe connector and other pipeline ,all the pipeline joint should be fixed tightly without loose or oil leaking hidden trouble.

3.  Enough steering oil should be poured into the oil reservoir,start the engine,drive the steering pump in low speed,and make sure the whole steering system full with steering oil,meanwhile,the fluid level of oil reservoir will be dropped rapidly during the oil pouring,so continuous oil filling is required to prevent air absorption in the pump.

4.  Turning the steering wheel from one limiting position to another limiting position,and repeat 10-15times.

    Don't stop in the limiting position over 5 seconds.
    Don't use over strength in the limiting position,otherwise the fluid stays foamy.
    Repeat the above action,until no bubble leaked out.

5.  In the process of installing pump transmission belt,tension force should be moderate,otherwise,abnormal abrasion & noise,premature damage,oil leakage & hard steering force will be shortly happened in case of too tight tension force.

6.  All standard operation should be followed during the installing,hammer and other objects knocked is strictly forbidden.We are not responsible for any nonstandard installing damage,except the quality defect.

      Note: Abnormal noise and reservoir oil foam will be happened during the trial run unless correct venting,because of remained air stayed in steering system,affer running 10-20kms,all the remained air will be released,and the noise will be disappeared.

FAQ

Q1 Q: Why is the pump making a whining noise all of the time?

Q1 A: A whining pump is usually caused by air in the system. Remove reservoir lid and inspect fluid level and condition. If fluid has foam or air bubbles present, you must bleed the system again. Some systems are very difficult to bleed manually and may require the use of a vacuum pump to extract all of the air from the system.

 
Q2 Q: Why do I still have hard steering in one direction after I replaced the pump?
Q2 A: The problem is not in the pump, it is in the steering gear. The pump would cause a steering problem in both directions.


Q3 Q: I bought a replacement power steering pump and my original pulley has a loose fit on the replacement pump shaft. What should I do?
Q3 A: The end of the original pump's input shaft enlarged causing the pulley hole to increase during removal. The pulley must be replaced.


Q4 Q: I only have assist when increasing engine rpm after installing the replacement pump. What's causing this?
Q4 A: Most likely cause is contamination. Remove the pressure hose and pressure fitting on the power steering pump. Remove the flow control valve and spring. Clean the valve and check the valve bore for damage. Reinstall the spring, valve, fitting and hose. Flush and bleed system and re-test. If okay, install power steering filter to prevent problem from re-occurring.

Within 30 days of receipt of your order, you may return auto parts in the same condition they were received, and provide your purchase invoice or order confirmation for us to check. Please be aware that any problem not listed below will not be covered by our 30 day exchange policy. If you do experience a problem other than the one listed below please call one of our service agents and we will try our best to resolve it.
 
Defective Part
If you receive a part of defect in material and/or workmanship, you will have to contact us and send it back before we ship you a replacement.
As soon as we receive the defective part and inspect it, we will get you a replacement and pay for the shipping costs.
 
Damaged in Transit
If you see any damage and/or evidence of tampering on the outer packaging make sure that the delivery person makes a note on the delivery receipt, and refuse to accept the damaged package. As soon as we confirm with our carrier that the delivery receipt has the note, we will send you a replacement and take care of the shipping costs.
If your package was left by the delivery person when you are not available and it has been damaged in transit, you will have to report the issue to us and the carrier within 48 hours of the delivery date. As soon as the carrier validate the damage, we will get you a replacement and pay for the shipping costs.
 
Damaged Part inside the Box
If your part is damaged inside the box, you will have to contact us right away, submit a picture of the damaged part and send it back to us before we ship you a replacement.
As soon as we receive the damaged part and inspect it, we will get you a replacement, and we’ll take care of the shipping costs.
If your package was left by the delivery person when you are not available and has been damaged inside the box, you will have to report the issue to us and the carrier within 48 hours of the delivery date. As soon as the carrier validate the damage, we will take care of the shipping cost to get the missing part to you.
 
Missing Part
When you find you don’t have all the parts you ordered, you have to check the packing slip whether we may have split your order into multiple shipments.
After checking the packing slip, you have no more shipments to arrive, you will have to make sure that the delivery person makes a note on the delivery receipt and contact us right away.
As soon as we confirm with our carrier that the delivery receipt has the note of missing parts, we will send you a replacement and pay for the shipping costs.

Wrong Part

We will email you a free return shipping label and as soon as we get that part back, we will ship you the correct one.

WARRANTY POLICY

 

DRIVESTAR AUTOPARTS warranty policy consists of 1-year warranty, 10-years warranty and limited lifetime warranty, which respectively applies to the parts explicitly stated in the product descriptions.

To obtain performance of the warranty, you have to contact us, return the product for inspection, and most of all pay attention to the following points as well.

 

The warranty is only valid for a one time replacement and limited to the original customer who is the owner of the vehicle provided that the ownership has not changed since the installation of the unit.

To file a warranty claim, you are required to provide a dated purchase receipt or other written proof that the product within the warranty period, an image of the warrantied part not attached to the vehicle, and an image showing the part stamp, if visible, on the warrantied part.

If for any reason a replacement part is not available, we will reimburse you the original purchase price of the part less shipping and handling charges.

Please be aware that the shipping fees on both ways are at your expense.

The warranty does not apply to failures caused by misuse, negligence, modification, abuse, improper application, installation or operation, or by unauthorized service or use of unauthorized parts in connection with the product and inadequate maintenance, normal wear and tear or normal consumption of the product.
