I believe that these two porcelain figurines represent Fu and Lu, two of the three Chinese Sanxing deities, gods of the three stars or constellations considered essential in Chinese astrology and mythology: Jupiter, Ursa Major, and Canopus.

Typically represented by three old wise men, Fu, Lu and Shou respectively represent Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity. The Fu figurine here is represented as a scholar, holding a scroll. Lu appears holding what I think is a lotus flower, and has a more elaborate headpiece.

Both of these figurines are in very good shape, standing 9 1/2 inches and 10 inches tall respectively. I have not found any chips or cracks of crazing. They are decorated with a combination of hand painting and some fine, transfer patterns.
