Well preserved colors. Signed Hammann at the lower left. The canvas has been relined. In very good condition.
Wooden frame with golden gilt. A few signs of age and wear, generally in very good condition.

A fine work of art, picturing a horse with a carriage and people in the snow. From old Copenhagen, the street named "Gammel Moent" (Old Coin). Early 20th C, c1907.
According to the label on the reverse, the work has been in the collection of the artdealer Martin Grossell, and was sold at auction in 1932. It has been exhibited, presumably in 1933.
The last photo shows the backyard of Gammel Moent and Store Regnegade, dated 1907. The building to the left, and the workers with their horses to the right. From the Photo Archives of Copenhagen, History and Art (not included)
Marius Hammann attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1900-01, a pupil of Otto Bache. He made several travels to Italy and France, and had a long stay in Paris 1906-07.
