DESCRIPTION:  Here is an early 19th century French Paris porcelain chocolate pot or coffee pot. Hand painted to the main body with enamels in the corn flower pattern. The spout  with a moulded animal head to the end and having a triangular gilt section to the mouth and a gilt patch to the top of the head. The spout body with three tapering gilt lines and a gilt band to the base of the spout where it meets the body. It has a loop shaped handle that has a tapering gilt line down the back with the bottom terminal moulded in the form of an acanthus leaf. The top rim, neck and foot rim are all gilt lined. This chocolate / coffee pot should have a lid that is sunken down so not visible. The chocolate or coffee pot is unmarked but could be Locre as it has an incised large L. Dates to 1800 to 1820.

SIZE:  The chocolate/coffee pot measures 9 3/4 inches high and 7 inches from handle to spout. Weighs 1.2 g before packing.

CONDITION:  There is no lid. A small are of gilt ware to the top rim and a smaller one to the back of the handle. There is a very small amount of imperfections to the glaze. Otherwise in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
