DESCRIPTION

Antique large size 18 pocket watch. Made from coin silver the watch movement was manufactured by Appleton Tracy company (which was the name of the American Watch Company (AWCo) in January 1859 when the Waltham Improvement Company merged with Appleton, Tracy & Company) of Waltham, Massachusetts. This early movement is numbered 1073506 which dates it to 1878-79 according to the database. The hinges are strong snapping securely shut, the hands are of an open fret spade style and it keeps time accurately.

CONDITION

In good working condition considering age and use, the face has several hairline cracks, the bezel has been scuffed and scratched somewhat (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
