Born on a drawing board in the late 1940's in Winnipeg Canada, Punkinhead came from the pen of cartoonist Charles Thorson (he did Bugs Bunny - Elmer Fudd - Snow White and Dwarfs - etc). Mop Topped misfit cub named Punkinhead would become the Teddy Bear who was Santa's favorite little helper for the department store Eaton's in Canada as their version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for Christmas.

Shropshire England. This is the micro ancestor of the original big brother Cheeky and is a limited edition of only 1000 when made, with this being #65 of 1000, and retired. Still has the original tags and what I would call a COA for the limited edition, and also has the tags attached to him on the back of one leg. Comes with his original box. This was produced from the original archives, and captures the original that was made in the late 1940's early 1950's. It is also hand signed on one foot by Oliver Holmes who is the grandson of the original founder/owner of MerryThought, started in 1930 in England. Oliver Holmes took over running MerryThought and passed away in 2011. Hand made of mohair, stuffed with stuffing and squeezable, and fitted with black glass eyes, and has that famous tuft of shaggy hair on his head. He wears a pair of beige/cream shorts. Bear is black with the tuft of hair on top a light beige creamy color along with his chest and inside of his ears. It is jointed, both shoulders and top of both hips, with a swivel head. It has the MerryThought sewn tag on the bottom of one of his shoes. Has been in a non-smoking home and has had excellent care taken of it. This bear is in excellent, like new, clean condition. Looks to never have been played with or handled hardly at all, just stored in his original box. Comes with original tags, and the box is in great condition and clean. No fur wear, no wear anywhere on him, no fading either. There are no holes, rips or tears. All this shows in the pictures so please take a close look. This is a great collectible bear! Every item(s) will be insured for the purchase price. Any item $300 and over will require a signature. I package as carefully as possible with sturdy boxes, bubble wrap and popcorn to arrive safely to you.
I also ship International. It is the full responsibility of the International buyer to pay any customs duty fees, tax fees, and any other International fees.
