Plastic mounts could be better than the metal mounts in some ways...

It is less likely to damage your handlebar compare to the metal mounts.

And, during crash, your Garmin is less likely to get damaged if the mount is plastic.

Also, it is a little lighter.

The long arm provides better viewing angle, your eyes and neck will feel more comfortable when you install longer computer like this one.
