Vintage Ceramic Art Sculpture Petri Stone Aphrodite Pot Signed Eric Burtis 1945
DESCRIPTION

Original vintage ceramic petri stone sculpture by sculptor Eric Burtis (1884-1960). This finely sculpted pot is made in three pieces, the main body which is plain, an internal lid and and external decorative lid. This is made from "petri stone" in California by Eric Burtis in 1945 and depicts a naked lady wrapped sensually around the top. Signed on the bottom by the maker with a date this piece dates to 1945. This may have been used either as a cookie jar or more likely a tobacco jar.

Label underneath: A hand made replica in 'Petri Stone' trade mark made in California Aphrodite pat. pend

This would make a great addition to any library decor, kitchen as a cookie jar or smokers cabinet as a humidor.

MEASUREMENTS

Ceramic sculpture measure 10.5" tall by 9" deep by 9" wide and weighs 9lb 2oz.

CONDITION

In good condition overall with some patina commensurate with age with no damage (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).

All purchases are shipped within 24 hours of payment with tracking and full insurance.

Pick Up Only Items must be collected within 14 days of purchase.

 

In the very unlikely event that your item is lost or damaged during post, then WE are responsible and will issue a full refund. We just kindly ask for your co-operation providing photos and/or a statement for the insurance.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: International buyers are responsible for any and all customs charges, taxes and additional postal fees. Some packages may be delayed in customs.
