SATOR MAGIC TALISMAN

The Amulet has on the front the famous magic square SATOR. The writing in black characters is inserted on a squarefield with gold, silver and copper marbled background. The Talisman is bounded by a gold frame.
The back has the Amira di Transilvania logo with the Uroboro.
The pendant is worn through a fluorescent orange cord tied to the talisman with three gold rings. 
In carrying out ceremonies and magical rituals not only the performed gestures and the pronounced formulas but also the tools that are used are fundamental. 
In order for them to perform their task in the best possible way, they have to be charged with a special powerful energy. For this to happen it is essential that they are thought and produced through precise passages that, in turn, form a real magical ritual. 
All the tools and objects signed by Amira di Transilvania, including this Pendant, are created within a such a scenario like this, that is in tune with the ancient rules of the Arcane. 


SYMBOLISM

Inside the Magic Square is written: Sator arepo tenet opera rotas. 
Independently from the place of their discovery (Italy, France, Spain, England, Hungary and other European countries) and from the time of their creation (the oldest evidence, found in 1925 in Pompeii, dates back to about two thousand years ago), all Magic Squares have the same text. 
The words within them create a palindroma phrase, which remains identical read in any verse. 
Therefore words can be read in the same way either horizontally (first to fifth row) or vertically (first to fifth column), either horizontally from the fifth row to the first (right to left) or vertically (from bottom to top) from the fifth to the first column. 
After centuries of careful study, attempts at interpretation and argument, there is still no agreement on the meaning of SATOR’s words. 
According to some scholars it would be either a kind of plea to prevent misfortune or a magic formula to heal an evil or to overcome some difficulty. 
In general, the meaning of the words in it would be:
  • sator: "God" (the creator), 
  • tenet: "dominates" or "holds", 
  • rotas opera: "the works of creation";
  • arepo: could derive from the Celtic word that designates the "plow".

On the basis of this, among the many interpretations we can remember:

  • "God rules the works of creation and what the earth produces";
  • "The sower on his cart directs the wheels";
  •  "The judging sower carefully directs the wheels";
  • "God directs and judges the whole universe". 
As a consequence, among the possible explanations are the fact that God holds up the sky, that is, he is the king of the heavens, and man is solely responsible for what happens on Earth or that God maneuvers the stars of the universe as man maneuvers the works of the earth (the plow).

According to some scholars, the Sator Square became a sort of seal of the Knights Templar, during the Middle Ages.
