Beautiful sterling silver muffineer (sugar shaker) made between 1870-1930 by John & William Deakin of Sheffield England.  Well hallmarked on the cap and the shaker body.  Small dents around the wider outer circumference - these almost look like part of the design but there are small dents around the body and we took several close-ups to show them.  There is a dent on the cap, and the finial is bent a little.  The sleeve on the cap fits into the shaker and twist-locks; the sleeve is dented a little, but still slides in and locks.  There are numbers very lightly etched on the bottom by a previous owner.  This piece has been travelling about 100 years and even with these small faults it remains an ornately beautiful piece of history, and would be a lovely addition to a nice table setting.
