Reggie Jackson was already in high school an amazing athlete and was of interest to professional organizations in football, baseball, and basketball. In professional baseball he was given the nickname "Mr. October" for his clutch hitting. He helped the Oakland Athletics to three American League Pennants and three World Series Championships (1972-1974), then later helped the New York Yankees win three American League Pennants and  two World Series Championships (1977 and 1978). He was a 14-time All Star selection, 4-time Home Run Leader, 2-time World Series MVP, 2-time Silver Slugger, and his jerseys #9 (Oakland A's) and #44 (Yankees) were retired. Jackson became the first player to win the World Series MVP award for two teams, and he hit a record 5 home runs in the 1977 WS. He was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993.
