AUCTION FOR A:
WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN ARMY WOOL TUNIC INFANTRY WOUND BADGE AWARD-
GOLD
1ST CLASS
This is a reproduction of the German
Verwundetenabzeichen - wound badge - of WWI.  This is the black or 3RD Class version of the badge. The award was not established until March of 1918 (by Kaiser Wilhelm II), so few soldiers actually wore it during the First World War which ended in November, 1918.
