 leather ammo pouch adopted around 1874 for all arms (Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery) for the Springfield breechloader in .45-70.  

 This one is Type 1, which does not have the buldge on the side for the disassembly tool. 

 Each pouch holds 20 rounds.
