The Beer Stein is of cylindrical form and the relief is modelled and painted with peasants in a tavern on a blue background.  The domed Pewter lid is covered with scrolling foliage.

  

The inside of the lid is stamped and marked with DBGM and the number 63. The bottom of the Beer Stein is marked with the number 2887 which is just visible in the photo.

The bottom of the Beer Stein is also marked with the word "foreign".  As the Beer Stein was given as a present to my father when he was in Australia I am therefore assuming the word "foreign" was stamped on the base to mark the Beer Stein as being made for export only.

The Beer Stein is dated to the mid 20th century.

The Beer Stein is in excellent condition as it has never been used.
