RARE Dec 1975 Original Rocky Horror Picture Show RHPS Window Card, Metro II SF.

This is an original, extremely rare, high-quality vintage window card that was printed for the 1975 limited premiere of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Metro II theater in San Francisco, CA on December 19, 1975. In the images, note in the screenshot from Wikipedia that this was only the seventh screening event for this premiere nationwide. The event details printed at the top of this card are not stuck on separately but are printed on the card itself. While this film may be of particular relevance to the trans, queer, and goth communities, it is a cult classic; this amazing window card is a piece of history that would make a unique gift for Pride Month, or any time for a certain horror or cinema buff.

It measures 14 x 22”.

Please note that the images currently in the listing are of an identical of these very rare original vintage posters that I obtained at the same time; the exact images shown are of the one I recently sold but this listing is for an identical poster. I will upload the new images as soon as I am able to photograph it but am listing with these for now as they were in comparable condition. This beautiful poster is in overall VERY GOOD condition for its age!

Compare to other vintage original lobby and window cards from this time. There are some very light discoloration marks in the upper white area and some very small creases and light scratch marks throughout from age, some slight bending to corners, but overall these are rather insignificant. The printing of the lips on this window card is highly detailed and has its own sheen—it is a gorgeous print. This was never folded—only gently rolled and has been stored flat. I acquired it from the estate of a Bay Area family friend who was a collector. I believe it has pretty significant historical / collectors’ value as the beloved Metro II theater no longer exists and this was a one-time premiere event so early on in this cult film’s history, before the general public began to appreciate it.

It comes unframed but I strongly believe from my own personal experience in collecting some original vintage posters for my home that once framed, the minor flaws will be virtually unnoticeable.

Please feel free to ask me any questions. I don’t know what type/weight of card stock this was printed on as I am not an expert collector.
