interesting and possibly rare item with "hidden" history.
bought framed print of 4th of July parade print few weeks ago at local thrift store. came home and decided to clean the glass from inside. removed backing paper and discovered this beautiful black and white gelatin photograph of a woman selecting what appears to be shiny metal balls. tried to google the image and only got idea that it may be from 40s-50s???
so here it is: two in one, including frame.
black and white photo is 19" x 16" visible image, could be a slightly bigger. it has few imperfections, not too noticeable, the biggest one is there is a small missing parts of the image on the left and above lady's right hand: one the size of the ball, another smaller which is kind of "perfect", because it blends with surrounding image.
not knowing the prices for this type of art work i checked other listings and was surprised how expensive this photographs go for. do not want to overestimate or undercut anyone including myself, so starting high with the hope that someone who is knowledgeable, corrects my expectations and i will adjust the asking price accordingly. thank you.
